The Diocese of Springfield in Illinois Employee Handbook integrates a wide range of resources, guides, manuals, and other publications to offer a single comprehensive source of information on diocesan employment policies and procedures. This handbook applies to:
- All parishes, schools, the Catholic Pastoral Center, cemeteries, and other agencies in the diocese.
- Clergy, paid staff, students, parents, volunteers, and certain contracted individuals and entities.
This handbook exists in an electronic format for easy access, simplified updating, and reduction of printing costs. It includes policies and procedures for day-to-day operations as well as particular situations and features many internal and external resources and links.
The Diocese reserves the right to update the handbook to reflect policy as needs evolve. The latest updates will be featured in the tab below.
This handbook updates, integrates, and replaces all prior policy and procedure handbooks in the Diocese. It was published in an online format in May of 2026.
