Eligible full-time employees are automatically enrolled in basic term life insurance immediately after being hired. It is up to the employee to designate a beneficiary for the term life insurance policy. Retired employees have the option to maintain their basic term life insurance and are responsible for payment of monthly premiums.

Full-time employees have the option of purchasing additional voluntary term life insurance (VTL) through the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois group plan. Participating employees may also be covered under the plan’s accidental death and dismemberment rider.
