If contacted by an attorney, law enforcement agency, media representative or outside persons trying to obtain information about a particular incident, lawsuit or news story, an employee should not speak on behalf of their employer unless designated to do so. An employee should refer any call requesting statements and information to the pastor, agency director or Director of the Office for Communications at the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois Catholic Pastoral Center.
