5.3. Performance Improvement
The pastor, principal, supervisor or agency director may develop a performance improvement plan for any employee when appropriate. Conversely, an employee may specifically request that their supervisor assist in developing a performance improvement plan at any time. The plan should help the employee with his/her supervisor mutually discern the best path for the employee and the organization going forward.
The performance improvement process is a means for increasing the quality and value of work performance. An employee’s initiative, effort, attitude, job knowledge, and other factors should be addressed.
Copies of performance improvement plans, or work performance reviews, will be retained in the employee’s personnel file.
