SDCCW to Host 97th Annual Convention in Quincy with Teresa Tomeo

The Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (SDCCW) will hold its 97th Annual Convention on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Quincy. Hosted by the Quincy Deanery Council of Catholic Women, the day will offer prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth for women across the diocese.

This year’s theme, “Handmaids of the Lord: Make Me a Channel of Your Peace,” will be brought to life by featured speaker Teresa Tomeo, a nationally known Catholic author, speaker, and media personality. With more than 40 years of experience in television, radio, and print journalism, Tomeo is a familiar face on EWTN Global Catholic Television Network, including as host of the Saints in Italy series.

The day will begin with the Morning Rosary at 8 a.m., followed by Mass at 8:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church (2223 St. Anthony Rd., Quincy, IL 62305). The Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor David J. Hoefler.

Following Mass, participants will travel to the convention site at The Ambiance Banquet Hall (5225 Kochs Lane, Quincy, IL 62305).

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for registration, the start of the program, and a morning snack. Lunch will also be provided, with gluten-free options available.
The program will feature two presentations by Teresa Tomeo:

  • 11 a.m. – Make Me a Channel of Your Peace: Discovering Your True Dignity by Following in the Footsteps of Saint Francis and Saint Clare
  • 1:30 p.m. – Beyond Sunday: Becoming a 24/7 Catholic as a Handmaid of the Lord

Attendees will also have opportunities throughout the day for meet-and-greet sessions, Q&A, and book signing with Tomeo. Time is built into the schedule to browse silent auction tables and vendor displays both before and after lunch.

The convention will conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Registration Cost:
Early Bird: $60 each. Checks must arrive by July 20
$70 each. Checks must arrive by August 15.
Clergy and Religious: $30 each. Checks must arrive by August 15
