Good Shepherd Society for
Priestly Vocations

Join the Good Shepherd Society for Priestly Vocations. The Good Shepherd Society's mission is to prayerfully and financially support the seminarians in the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. Your leadership gift will provide the much-needed support for the current 13 seminarians. There are different ways you can choose to participate today:

  • Become a MEMBER with your annual gift of $1,500 or more (contribution frequency options include annually, quarterly, or monthly)
  • Become a FRIEND with your gift of any amount in support of seminarians

Additionally, as we pray for growth in priestly vocations with a goal of 40 seminarians, your leadership gift will ensure the diocese is prepared to meet the financial need of men responding to the call.

Diocesan General Fund

All gifts graciously and sacrificially given are a visible sign of intentional discipleship and stewardship. You are a witness to the good work being done in your parish and the larger universal church and we appreciate your sacrificial gift! Your contribution will be a direct donation toward the ministries and mission of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. Please note, no individual Diocesan entity (parish, school or cemetery) will receive "credit" towards this gift. All of us are called to journey toward faithful discipleship and your gift is a testament to the Good News happening in the universal church in our home diocese. Thank you for your support!

Types of Giving

Give Stock

Consider donating stock as a way to continue supporting the causes you love. Stock giving allows you to save your cash, avoid capital gains, and maximize your impact. You may also receive a tax deduction for the full value of the gift.

Give from your IRA

If you are 70.5 or older, you can support your parish, school, or diocesan ministry directly from your IRA. An IRA gift can potentially reduce your taxable income, and if you are 72 or older and must fulfill a Required Minimum Distribution, your donation is a compassionate way to fulfill this requirement.

Legacy Giving

Including a gift in your estate plan to your parish, school or a diocesan ministry is a powerful way to ensure we can continue the mission for years to come. Creating your will allows you to make a lasting commitment to your loved ones, your values, and your faith. If you do not have an up-to-date plan in place, you can create your legal will for free using this trusted resource from our partner, FreeWill, which makes it simple to start your legacy in a few minutes online.
