The Black Catholic Commission for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois is hosting their annual Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Sacred Heart Griffin H.S. track, which is located at Ken Leonard Field.

How it works is priests and/or deacons from each parish sign up to walk and parishioners from each parish sponsor/fund their priests and/or deacons to walk. Money raised from the event will go to fund school/church needs, purchasing resources, helping subsidize school education such as scholarships and events, and the Black Catholic Commission.
Suggested donations are a $15 flat pledge (first mile), $5 for the second mile, and $5 for a third mile. For priests and deacons, please register for the event by contacting Carmen White with the Black Catholic Commission at 773-573-0806.
