World Youth Day (WYD) is a global Catholic event that gathers young people to celebrate their faith. Started by Saint John Paul II in 1985, it takes place every few years in different countries. The event features religious and cultural activities including a series of religious and cultural activities such as Masses, catechesis sessions, and discussions on faith and social issues and culminates in a final Mass led by the Pope.
