The Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (SDCCW) is once again inviting young women to apply for the SDCCW Female High School Senior Leadership Scholarship. In 2024, SDCCW is offering four $2,000 scholarships, which will recognize outstanding Catholic female high school seniors who exemplify SDCCW’s mission values of leadership, faith, and service.

High school senior young women who are interested in applying for the scholarships should contact their high school principal, guidance office, or parish office for applications. The scholarship includes all Catholic and public schools and all Catholic churches in the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois — and is for the next academic year (2024-2025).

Applications for the scholarship have been sent to all parishes and high schools. All application materials must be sent together and postmarked by March 30, 2024.

SDCCW will select all recipients from the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois and will notify the winning applicant, her school, and parish by early May. Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Women of Distinction Mass and Banquet on Saturday, June 15, and will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Catholic Times.

Dallmier said it is her hope that by offering these scholarships  “deserving”  senior girls have “an opportunity to pursue their dreams and spread an example of the Church today.”

SDCCW is an affiliate of the National Council of Catholic Women and actively promotes the Catholic faith through service and leadership. The council is comprised of representatives from the deaneries of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.
