Twenty-nine talented young artists from Central Illinois have joined forces to create a powerful pro-life statement through a unique art project. The students, from grades 5-12, have contributed their artwork to the Springfield Right to Life 2025 Children Helping Children Calendar, celebrating the sanctity of life.

This initiative, led by Springfield Right to Life, showcases the creative abilities of youth while advocating for the unborn. Each calendar entry serves as a visual representation of the student’s commitment to protecting life at all stages.

Project coordinator, Kimberly Steil Magowan, praised the young artists, saying, "Your beautiful artwork is helping to make a statement in support of life for the unborn — those who cannot speak for themselves. But you are speaking for them." She emphasized the potential long-term impact, adding, "Through your artwork, you planted a seed in the minds of others — seeds of hope."

The calendar was unveiled at a recent "Art & BBQ" event, where more than 250 attendees viewed the original artwork and purchased calendars. All proceeds from the event and calendar sales will support Springfield Right to Life's local pro-life initiatives and will remain on sale through the end of the year.

Tim Moore, SRTL president, highlighted the project's dual purpose saying, "This project not only showcases the artistic talents of Central Illinois youth but also provides a platform for them to express their beliefs on a critical social issue.”

The success of this year's project has inspired plans for future iterations on similar themes. Organizers are encouraging students to continue participating throughout their high school years. Winners received prizes up to $500, with others gaining recognition through their art's display in the calendar.
