SDCCW is awarding $2,000 scholarships to graduating H.S. female seniors

Attention 2026 Catholic Female High School Graduates! Apply for $2,000 scholarship

The Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (SDCCW) is awarding four $2,000 scholarships to graduating female seniors from the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois (homeschooled, Catholic school, or public school) who exemplify the SDCCW mission and are a practicing Catholic. The money awarded may be used toward a vocational school or college degree.

The mission of the SDCCW is to support and empower Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service. The SDCCW is affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW).

Applications must be received by April 15.

Please mail all three of the following items:

  1. SDCCW scholarship application information:
    Include your full name, address, phone number, email address, home parish (name and city), high school (name and city), and the higher education institution you plan to attend.
  2. Typed essay (maximum two pages). The essay must be signed by you and address these questions:
    • A) How you have demonstrated leadership, faith, and service during your high school years to your family, parish, school, and/or community.
    • B) How do you plan to continue living out these values in the future?
    • Your pastor must also sign the essay to attest to your eligibility for the SDCCW Scholarship.
  3. Letter of recommendation
    A letter from an adult who is familiar with how you have demonstrated leadership, faith, and service to your family, parish, school, and/or community.
