Illinois Pro-Life March and Mass for Life takes center stage in Springfield — and you are invited to the experience it all
March 25 event includes Mass, rally, and march

After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade three years ago, states around the country have been going in two different directions — either passing laws protecting the most innocent, the unborn, or passing laws that promote, advance, and/or protect the ability to destroy that precious life in the womb. This is why those who believe in the right to life are taking their voices to state capitals, Springfield being one of the most important in the country, as the actions from most state lawmakers and Governor JB Pritzker have made Illinois the abortion capital of the Midwest.

On Tuesday, March 25, you are invited to join thousands of pro-life advocates, being a joyful witness to life and raising your voice for the voiceless at the Illinois Pro-Life March. The day begins with Mass at 10 a.m. at the Sangamon Auditorium on the campus of the University of Illinois Springfield, celebrated by Bishop Thomas John Paprocki. You must register for the Mass by going to dio.org.
After the Mass, there is a rally at the state capitol at 1 p.m. and then a march around the capitol at 2 p.m. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will also be going on at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception from noon to 5 p.m. Confessions at the Cathedral will also be available from noon-1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. Last year, about 2,000 people attended the Illinois Pro-Life March, the vast majority being students from Catholic schools and Newman Centers. There were also dozens of priests, seminarians, religious, and the lay faithful from every corner of the diocese and the state.
