SUMMARY:Walk-A-Thon for priests/deacons and supported by lay Catholics set for Oct. 19
DESCRIPTION:The Black Catholic Commission for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois is hosting their annual Walk-A-Thon on Saturday\, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Sacred Heart Griffin H.S. track\, which is located at Ken Leonard Field. \nHow it works is priests and/or deacons from each parish sign up to walk and parishioners from each parish sponsor/fund their priests and/or deacons to walk. Money raised from the event will go to fund school/church needs\, purchasing resources\, helping subsidize school education such as scholarships and events\, and the Black Catholic Commission.\nSuggested donations are a $15 flat pledge (first mile)\, $5 for the second mile\, and $5 for a third mile. For priests and deacons\, please register for the event by contacting Carmen White with the Black Catholic Commission at 773-573-0806.
